Located in Catalonia between the towns of Llívia and Puigcerdà, Bourg-Madame is one of the main towns of the French Cerdanya and it is also the place where Catalonia and France join. Focused on trade and tourism, Bourg-Madame has a contemporary art space (Espai Puig Martí) and two Romanesque churches: the church of Caldégas (9th century) and Sant Martí d’Hix (9th century) which had a valuable front of altar -now preserved in MNAC (National Art Museum of Catalonia)- and where many concerts are held throughout the year. Bourg-Madame also has a natural environment and a wonderful landscape typically from La Cerdanya that allows multiple and varied options for the nature and hiking lovers.
