Located in the Valley of Camprodon and belonging to the region of El Ripollès, this municipality is an exceptional geographical area between the Ter river and the Feitús watercourse. Llanars presents a large historical heritage that dates from prehistoric times. It is worth mentioning the church of Sant Esteve, located in the middle of the village. This Romanesque-styled church dates from the 12th century and it consists of just one nave and two annex chapels that belong to a subsequent time. The front of wooden altar, unique in the region and which dates from the 12th century, has been preserved inside. It should not be forgotten the wide natural environment by which the municipality is surrounded, since it is a rural tourism benchmark that offers peace and a wide amount of walking and biking routes. Furthermore, it is also a destination for winter sports lovers.
