Tiurana is a town and a mountain municipality in the La Noguera region, officially inaugurated in 2007. This town inherited the name of the former village of Tiurana, flooded due to the construction of the Rialb reservoir. The determination of its inhabitants to preserve their identity made possible the building of the new village around the hermitage of the Virgin of Solés, its Patron Saint. Tiurana relocated monuments from the old town, such as the arcades of the main street or the Moorish well, and has new ones, such as The Fire of the Pilgrim and the fountain Sun Water, created to symbolize the effort of the inhabitants of Tiurana to have a new town and not lose their roots. Tiurana also has a breathtaking landscape, hiking and, mountain biking trails and has been granted the seals of quality Tiurana place of emotions, Moturisme and, the Starlight certificate.
