La Guingueta d'Àneu

Located between the Unarre Rivers and the stream of Burgo, the area of Escalarre is part of the township of Guingueta of Àneu, in the region of Pallars Sobirà. The town has one of the jewels of the Romanesque Pyrenees: the parish church of Sant Martí, who despite being a bit far from the town, it is worth to visit to discover the main gate and the sculptures surrounding it dated from the 12th century, and the early 13th. Escalarre, like the other municipalities of Àneu Valleys offer a unique landscape and numerous possibilities for nature lovers: hiking and biking, climbing, horseback rides and even fishing in the swamp of Torrassa.
