Programme

Works by W. A. Mozart and A. Vanderhagen.

Terra Nova Collective’s programme combines Vanderhagen (whom bicentennial year of his death is celebrated) and Mozart’s music. The works of both composers are the utter representation of the artistic refinement of two of the most important cultural poles in the late 18th century: Vienna and Paris. In Vienna, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was the leading composer of Habsburg emperor Joseph II’s reign. In Paris, the music of Flemish composer Amand Vanderhagen, a forgotten figure of the Parisian musical scene after the French Revolution, was the soundtrack during the reign of another very influent emperor of the European history: Napoleon I.
